On May 14, a Special Workshop was held inviting Professor Pierpaolo Benigno of LUISS Guido Carli University, who is well-known as the leading scholar in the fields of macroeconomics and monetary economics.

Professor Benigno presented a paper titled ”Monetary policy in a world of cryptocurrencies” and showed that they may jeopardize the functions of monetary policy in controlling inflation rates and economic activities. Professor Benigno explained a topic of much public interest clearly using a simple theoretical framework, which was followed by an active Q&A session.
