Globalization and the Building of a High Quality Economic System Five-years project: 2013–2017 Projects
Research Objectives
This program aims at obtaining the essential and critical scientific knowledge needed to build a high quality Japanese economic system. Here, we define “high quality” economic systems those systems that best capitalize on increases in international economic transactions. Such a system enables each and every citizen to reap the fruits of economic globalization without conflicts of interest among individuals and groups. Using cutting-edge methods of applied microeconomics, we conduct theoretical, empirical, and policy research concerning the interaction between the globalization of Japanese economy and firms’ behavior, household behavior, and income redistribution policy in the context of rebuilding a Japanese “high quality” economic system.
